How big a bank roll am I going to need to play video poker if I want to maximize my odds of achieving my goal of seeing a royal flush before going broke?

I've heard that a good rule of thumb is to have about a thousand betting units for the game you're going to play which means that if you're playing for $1.25 a hand then you should have a minimum of $1250.
